RADIESSE® from Merz Aesthetics is an injectable implant with calcium hydroxylapatite particles (CaHA, 25–45 micrometres) in a gel of sterile water, glycerin and sodium carboxymethylcellulose. It is not a hyaluronic acid filler: CaHA is the filling material and is used as a filler and biostimulator.
According to the Merz IFU, the version with lidocaine contains 0.3% lidocaine hydrochloride in the gel. The version without lidocaine is a separate variant with a different composition.
